Climbing Higher
A blog dedicated to the dawn of combat aviation
Check out my livestreams!
Every so often when I'm flying WW1 flight simulators, I broadcast my flights live on Twitch. In these broadcasts, I explain my flight thought processes in real time, demonstrate how to use various aspects of the simulator, and generally have a good time with old and new friends alike! Feel free to stop by my channel and follow me to get notified when I go live!
Il-2 Flying Circus
The successor to the highly-acclaimed WW1 simulator, Rise of Flight, Il-2's Flying Circus series brings Rise of Flight's content to the new and updated Digital Warfare engine! Volume 1 includes 10 legendary WWI combat aircraft and map of the Arras sector of the Western Front in WWI. Volumes 2 and 3 build upon this, with heavy bombers, increasingly-comprehensive singleplayer campaigns, brand-new collector planes, and a fully-realized Western Front map — complete with 5 seasons. With a possible Volume 4 right around the corner, there has never been a better time to join the Flying Circus movement!
Rise of Flight
Although introduced in 2009, Rise of Flight remains one of the best WW1 flight simulators available on the market. While a bit outdated and starting to show its age compared to Flying Circus, Rise of Flight is still a very viable simulator. With 40 flyable aircraft (3 of which are free to play) and 14 maps available in both single player & multiplayer, Rise of Flight remains a viable WW1 simulation despite its age.
